My Dad used to read me story books when I was a kid. In fact, I couldn’t go to sleep without his soothing voice lulling me to sleep reading stories after stories after stories…poor Dad!
Anyways, I remember wondering through my teenage years about the stories I have heard..like what happened to the characters afterwards the story ended..like did the prince and princess have a baby after they lived happily ever after? Did the evil step mother got what she deserved after treating her step daughter that way? You know..the details and the destiny of characters who deserve your sympathy and loyalty stick with you over the years. You may never forget them no matter how much water passed under the bridge…
It also tells you a thing or two about your own destiny and the importance of forging your path as you live your life.
Netflix knows all about the destiny of story book characters we have grown up with and brings you just that for your watching pleasure in the month of February!
Create Your Own Destiny
The story book characters like Mad Hatter, Snow White, and the Evil Queen are parents now and their children are studying at the enchanted high school of Ever After High, a boarding school for teens destined to follow in their famous parents’ fairytale footsteps. The all new original special Ever After High: Spring Unsprung, premiered on Netflix in February celebrates the idea that the story of your life is not written in permanent ink.
Ever After High
You have the power to create your own destiny…
In two other Netflix original series’ premiering this month, there are kids also creating their own destinies.
Teenage mermaids stand out from the crowd in Season 2 of Mako Mermaids (2/13) and Richie Rich (2/20), the same entrepreneur we grew up with, is back but this time his refusal to eat his veggies has made him a trillionaire.
Very cool, isn’t it?
I have to say this month’s Netflix theme is very inspiring for the little guys and adults alike- Power to change your own destiny is HUGE and there is a line up of shows currently playing on Netflix to tell you that in very many ways!
Someday, I will…
So far, this month was fun watching all the Netflix shows. Serious conversations were played out in our home on the importance of following one’s dreams and forging one’s own path to destiny. Though the topic is heavy and hard to get it across to my little ones, some of these shows really made it easy to help my kids see how beautiful the destiny can be if they are willing to follow their heart..
Well done, Netflix! High Five 🙂
