White Cheddar Cheese Sticks Recipe

March Break is over and kids are back to school this week.

This means, back to the grind for us parents as well. Our busy day starts with waking up to the sound of the alarm and getting the day off to a great start with a healthy breakfast for the whole family. Also Included in the agenda is packing nutritious lunches for everyone, within time constraints. My kids are into snacking big time so I make it a point to stock up on healthy snacks that fill up the day and their tummies just right!

March is Nutrition Month so now is a great time to include cheeses (a nutritious source of calcium, protein, vitamin B12 and more!) into your family diet. Gay Lea’s gourmet and artisan cheese products by Ivanhoe and Salerno has some great line up of amazing cheeses that could work to serve you as yummy snacks. Take a look at the Ivanhoe white cheddar cheese sticks recipe snack below that you can whip up in a jiffy!

Baking sheet

As you can see, you may already have most of these ingredients in your pantry! Because of the simplicity, this recipe is perfect for whipping up when in a hurry.

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Begin by slicing the baguette in half so the inside is exposed.
2. In a small bowl, mix the butter and garlic powder into a paste. Spread it onto the bread generously.
3. Sprinkle half of your dried seasonings over the butter spread.

4. Now, spoon on the mayonnaise and spread into a thin layer. Top the mayonnaise with the remaining spices.
5. Finish by topping the bread with the shredded white cheddar cheese.
6. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 7 minutes.

When your  herb cheddar cheese sticks are done, you will have tasty, gooey cheese sticks that are truly addictive! They are best when enjoyed warm, and if you wish you can even partner them up with a marinara dipping sauce.

Should you want to add more or less of any of the ingredients, go ahead! You can always cater the recipe to your needs and make it perfect for your palette. That could mean adding more cheese, more garlic,  less of the dried seasonings, etc.

I haven’t seen this recipe made with mayo before, but I’m curious as to how it compares to our usual butter. I bet it tastes wonderful with those seasonings. 🙂
