Plan a Family Movie Night with Netflix #StreamTeam

Minion Cookies Recipe

Fall has arrived people!

The air is crisp and fresh.  I see leaves turning colors…

This season is my favorite as I have the best reason in the world to enjoy a hot cup of cocoa in the mornings, everyday! And also, how about cuddling up indoors on a cool fall day with a great book and blankie? I know, right? Awesome!

But, let’s not forget that after a fun filled summer, families are getting back to the routine in fall. Schools are in session and parents have gone back to work as well after their summer vacations.

We all are getting busy with work and extra curricular activities, again…But would you make that as a reason to put an end to bonding and staying connected with your family? Would you let your busy life take you away from having quality time together?

No. It does not have to be that way. In fact, Fall is a great time to start new traditions.

Here is an idea.  Have Netflix at home? Then, let’s get you set up with a Movie Night! Gather round to pop some corn, cozy up on the couch under a blanket and screen your family’s favourite movies on Netflix. What better way to bond than having a family movie night at home? There is your chance right there to both unwind after a long day and be entertained at the same time!

Here are some titles you might be interested in:

                                                                                              THE LIZZIE MCGUIRE MOVIE

                                                                                                                 The Aristocats

                                                                                                 The Rescuers

Remember these tips to make the most out of your Netflix Family Movie Night

  • Pick a movie the whole family can enjoy- children’s movies or comedies work best. If you are personally a fan of drama and others are not, it is best to keep it for days when it is just you and Netflix, alone and together 🙂
  • Make sure all your snacking needs are taken care of before the movie starts. If popcorn is in the menu, it is ideal if all of it is popped and in the bowl before you settle down in the couch.
  • It would be great to make time for creating movie related craft or activity so everyone can get involved in. For example, if you are watching Disney Planes, family members can play with toy planes- flying them or race against each other. Craft wise, have fun making some paper planes. Depending on the movie you are watching, it will be fun to come up with ideas such as these. More ways to enjoy quality time together on a family movie night!
  • Don’t forget to talk about the movie after you have finished watching- lessons learned, scenes enjoyed and such..

So, there you have it! Family Movie Night is not just about watching something together. It is also about the thought that goes into planning a fun night. Be it picking a movie of everyone’s choice, planning activities surrounding it or simply talking about what you watched cuddled up beside the fire place afterwards..

Schedule a Netflix Family Movie Night this weekend with family. Have fun planning to make it a success starting today. Screen through the titles and pick the movie to watch in advance, stock up on your snacking needs and decide on the type of movie related activities or crafts you think everyone will enjoy.

Have a great movie night with family and Netflix this weekend! 🙂
