Healthy Cookies Part 2- Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies

Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Next up in  my Healthy Cookies series is Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies and it is equally yummy as the Cowboy cookies which we talked about last time.

To those of you who missed the yummilicious cowboy cookies, make sure to check out the recipe and baking instructions here

Now, the ingredients for the Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies is quite easy to put together and bake. It is also lots of fun when your little one is your Baking Assistant. Kevin, my little helper  did a very fantastic job of  mixing all the dry ingredients  together and later on, dropping spoonful of the cookie mix into the baking sheet.

Apple Sauce is one of the common ingredients that I used in both  Cowboy Cookies and the Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies recipes  and the taste it rendered to my cookies was just divine.  In fact, apple sauce will be a sure candidate in all my future cookie expeditions. It is healthy and at the same time very appealing to our kids’ taste buds. You can never go wrong with apple sauce!

Coconut oil is also good if you want to try something different in that category as well.

¾ Cup Oats

¼ teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

¼ Cup mini Chocolate Chips

2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil

2 Teaspoons Applesauce

1/8 Cup Skim Milk

Baking

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Spray cookie sheet with non-stick spray and set aside.  In blender or food processor, mix together oats, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips and brown sugar until well mixed and chips have been chopped fine.  In medium bowl mix together dry ingredients with coconut oil, applesauce and milk.  Drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes at 375 degrees.

So, there you have it! Delicious Flourless Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I love chocolate chip cookies almost as much as oatmeal/raisin cookies. I don’t know about baking cookies without flour but I understand there are people that cannot have flour or gluten. Thanks for the recipe.

I love this recipe. I am a diabetic and it is hard to find “Sweet” recipes that I could use. This one is great. Since Splenda now has brown sugar I could substitute that and have a ball eating it!

I didn’t know healthy and cookie could go in the same sentence! Love it! I’ve heard of using apple sauce to replace butter. I’ve tried it and liked it. I would also love to give this recipe a try.
