Bring on the Stall Excuses Oye Little Ones! #5MoreMinutes #StreamTeam

Puss in Boots on Netflix

Putting kids to bed is a challenge in my house most nights. But then, who doesn’t go through it, right?

“Mommy, I want to watch one more episode of Curious George”. (Yes, sometimes my kids are so honest, they come right out with it ha!)

“I have tummy ache, I want to wait and see if I need to go to washroom” (again)

Aargh! I am so thirsty, my throat hurts it is so dry (Yes, that is a good one!)

“I have head ache. Wait, my eye ball is hurting Mommy. Can I sit here 5 more minutes?” (And watch some more shows)

Seriously, do my kids think I am stupid?

Dealing with their tantrums and stall excuses are nothing to new to me a Parent but sometimes, their ridiculous requests get the better of me and I give in. This means, kids end up watching more Netflix shows that goes way past their bed time because hey, I am too tired to argue. Mean time, you will probably see me cuddled up in the sofa next to them, trying to stay awake. No judging, please.

End result, it is a struggle to wake my son up for school next morning. More excuses to stay in bed, go figure. No rest for poor Mommy. What goes around comes around…

Netflix is one step ahead on this one. This month, they are sharing some new tactics with all parents to deal with their kiddos’ stall excuses on bed time- the Netflix way!

This is how it works.

Next time you find yourself in the bedtime battle, just tell your kids they can watch an ENTIRE show before bed. Yep, you heard me right, and no, I haven’t lost my mind.

I have heard the news from Netflix camp that Netflix and DreamWorks Animation launched Dinotrux Favorites, an entire episode of the latest hit all in a nice little 5-minute package — letting your little negotiator think they’re getting away with the age-old ‘just five more minutes’ ploy. So let them high-five all the live-long-day knowing you just pulled the greatest parenting stunt of all time. In a mere 300-seconds, your kids will be speechless as they march themselves up to bed knowing they got exactly what they wanted.

Score: You- 1, Kids’ stall- 0.

Take Back Your Night Parents!!!

Tucking them in is magic, it’s just getting there that’s the hard part. So make bedtime a little easier with three new Dinotrux Favorites from Netflix.

For when you have more than five minutes just before bedtime…

So, bed times are going to be easy as pie from now on. Our kids are smart. Just use their own tricks against them. And don’t forget to come back and tell me how it panned out for you 🙂

Keep watching Netflix everyone!

My son always needs one more drink of water before going to sleep. Then he has to get up one more time to go to the bathroom. We had Netflix for a while but I’m seriously considering getting it again for all the good shows and because cable is so expensive.
